PLEASE NOTE:
I am a HUGE fan of the Dragon Ball franchise but I know that some people aren't. If your not a fan or haven't watched too much of Dragon Ball Super, you might be a little confused by the story and I wouldn't recommend you go see this movie. Now that I've said that, LETS BEGIN!!!
I went to go see the new Dragon Ball Super movie yesterday and oh my god it was amazing. I have to admit that I was skeptical about the creators retconning Broly, but I approve of how director Tatsuya Nagamine approached his character.
The first thing I'd like note is that this movie has nothing to do with the previous three Broly movies. The only similarity between the older movies and this one is that Frieza destroys Planet Vegeta. That's it. This is a complete revision of Broly's character. Don't go see this movie with the expectation that it's a continuation of the original trilogy.
That being said, this movie is amazing. My eyes were glued to screen the entire time. The story, witting jokes, the scenery of the fights, the battle music and battle itself were nothing short of spectacular. I love that we get to see a little more of what life was like on Planet Vegeta and why Frieza felt he needed to destroy it. We see a little more of Bardock and King Vegeta and how they act as fathers. The movie also canonized Vegeta's younger brother, Tarble, after the destruction of Planet Vegeta, where a saiyan survivor asks Kid Vegeta about his younger brothers.
My only complaint is with the CGI. I loathe CGI in anime but it wasn't bad in this movie. I still think this movie would be a success without it.

Another thing I like about DBS Broly is that we don't see it from Goku's perspective. Most of the screen time out of fighting is devoted to Broly and his character development. There are moments where we see the heroes perspective, but this is Broly's movie we see it mostly from his point of view.
The battle itself is 30 to 40 minutes of action packed awesomeness. This movie has the best fight scenes than any other movie in the franchise. Just when you think it's over and someone lost, they power up and get right back into the fight. The movie also explains why Broly can go toe to toe against two super saiyan gods as a non super saiyan and absolutely destroy them when he turns into one.
As you saw in the trailer, Goku and Vegeta have to do the fusion dance and transform into Gogeta to defeat Broly and even with their power combined, the battle was a challenge for the heroes.
I'm giving this movie a solid 9/10. DBS Broly was nothing short of spectacular. My only real complaint was with the CGI but it wasn't too noticeable and the movie was so good that I can overlook it. I'd strongly recommend this movie to anyone who's a fan of Dragon Ball franchise.
